
Branding for Dolphin N2
We were approached by Ricardo PLC in 2018 to develop branding for a new CryoPower technology product.


Named after Sir Harry Ricardo’s 1914 “Dolphin” Engine, this new technology is a split cycle internal combustion engine that utilises two fuel inputs; renewable fuels and renewable electricity delivered by liquid nitrogen. This process offers significant operational cost and clean air benefits in the heavy duty transport & distributed power generation industries.
We developed a sharp, clean, contemporary and futuristic specially drawn typeface to create a wordmark that reflects the key product descriptors – future, clean, efficient, tech. Linking the N and the 2 suggests a ‘flow or movement’ of the the fuel and N2 through the cylinders, or a more general flow through the power generation process.
