Brighton Buses web design

As part of our ongoing work with Brighton Buses, we were asked to develop key web design templates for their main consumer-facing website. A vital part of the process was to cater for the various user groups and their differing needs. Some customers know their service and stop and just need quick times. Others may need to browse future timetables, and some may not know what bus to catch, or from where. It also needed to convey a wide range of information on fares and tickets, routes and accessibility – to the diverse range of local customers, students and visitors. Web development was handled by existing Brighton partners Netescape.

The key aim of the web design was to identify the different user groups and what information each group needed. Once that was established we were able to strip out all unnecessary information and simplify the website, using a clean design that incorporated the existing brand guidelines.

Particularly important for this project was the mobile web design, allowing users to quickly find the information they need on the move, and to personalise with 'favourite stops'.
