New studio for the business
Nov 4, 2013
We are very pleased to announce that Mark Design has now bought 4 Orange Row (where?), in the centre of Brighton’s North Laine. Once part of a notorious slum, Orange Row’s previous inhabitants have included fishermen, a cork merchant, a furniture dealer, a cabinet maker and a piano store. More recently a row of garages, but further back it was also the home of one of Britain’s greatest boxing champions, Tom Sayers who took part in the first ‘world title’ international boxing match 150 years ago – an illegal affair that lasted two hours and 27 minutes.
For anyone interested in Brighton’s North Laine, and the association that helped save it from the planners, a new book has just been published by Brighton Town Press.
